Tony Hubbard McTimoney Chiropractor

Tony Hubbard

Chiropractor (McTimoney)

After previously working with many of Cornwall’s teenagers in residential care as well as working as an artist, I am very excited to be working as part of the team in Helston where I have lived since I was a small boy.

After years of trying different types of therapies for my ‘slightly achey’ back, it was chiropractic treatments that finally convinced me that aches and pains don’t have to part of life just because you’re old, injured, or in my case ‘just because I’m tall’.

It’s strange how feeling the effects of, what can often seem like unusual but magical, adjustments can have a positive effect on the way that you can take control of your health and your life. For some that might be reducing medication or feeling able to take up an old hobby or sport, but for me in 2006, it gave me the energy to begin a Masters degree in Chiropractic at McTimoney College near Oxford.

Since beginning my ‘journey’, I am constantly reminded and amazed by the differences that Chiropractic care can make to people’s lives and feel fortunate to be a part of it.

Hi, my name is Niki and I am a CA at Helston Chiropractic Clinic.  Mine is likely to be the first voice that you speak to at the end of the telephone and the first person to welcome you when you walk through the door.

My job is to help to make you feel at ease when you come in as well as to help our doctors and therapists to run procedures smoothly and effectively.

Chiropractic Assistant

.

I have experienced chiropractic care on a regular basis for a number of years and it has, through that time kept me healthy, both inside and out as well as keeping me healthy through both of my pregnancies.

I believe that chiropractic care has so many benefits, whether you are young or old, fit or immobile, and I enjoy seeing the positive progress made by so many of the patients that visit us.

Acupuncturist

My journey into acupuncture started over 20 years ago when I was offered acupuncture sessions to alleviate back pain from a car accident and has since progressed with me having been trained as a Five Element acupuncturist to administer the ancient art myself. Initially I didn't understand the full benefits of all that acupuncture can offer until I tried it as an alternative to Western medicines for something different.

When I mention to people that I'm an acupuncturist they often tell me about problems with their back and neck pain, knees, joints etc but not everyone is aware the wide variety of ailments that might respond well to acupuncture. Conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, tinnitus, eczema, headaches, arthritis, insomnia, PMT, menopause, sickness, IBS, diarrhoea, hay fever, tiredness and post Covid symptoms are just some of the health issues that acupuncture has been used for. In Five Element acupuncture, it is believed that by nurturing and balancing the mind, body and spirit/soul, your unique life force, Qi (pronounced Chi), is able to begin its own self-healing process; I look forward to supporting you through your unique healing journey.

‘It is more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has’  Hippocrates.

Over 25 years ago, the words of Hippocrates, above, sparked my interest in holistic healing, and this became a way of life for me and my family. It also led me to train as a medical herbalist.

Deanne Greenwood

Medical Herbalist

I live and practice here in Cornwall, a place that, for me, exudes a powerful healing energy and, I believe, supports the work that I do.

My patients come from all walks of life, for help with all sorts of complaints, including those relating to the digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and reproductive systems, and of emotional/psychological origin.

People are sometimes surprised that herbal medicine can also help with musculoskeletal problems. There are some very powerful and effective anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving) herbal remedies, which can work alongside chiropractic treatment, for example. These don’t have the side effects associated with many conventional drugs.

I have a special interest in women’s hormonal health, from menstrual and fertility problems to the menopause. I also see many people with chronic or longterm illness, including autoimmune disorders.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Herbal Medicine, and am a member of the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy (MCPP), a professional organisation and register of herbalists that ensures its members are qualified, competent and fully insured to practice. Members also have to participate, on an ongoing basis, in a professional training scheme known as Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This helps practitioners keep up to date with the latest scientific developments in medical and herbal research. See www.phytotherapy.org for more information.

If you would like more information about me, and about herbal medicine, please visit my website at: www.deannegreenwood.com

I also have a ‘satellite’ website dedicated to the menopause. My aim is to provide a source of information and advice regarding diet and lifestyle, as well as herbal remedies, to help you manage this natural transition in your life. You’ll find it at www.naturalhelpformenopause.uk

You can book an appointment via my website (above), or by email: contact@deannegreenwood.com
