Acupuncture

Chinese Acupuncture has been used for over 2,500 years and involves inserting very fine needles on certain parts of the skin to stimulate your body's natural Qi energy. Using a variety of other 'tools', such as the Chinese 24hour clock to observe any discrepancies in the natural cycle of highs and lows in your energy levels which may be causing more physical symptoms, will also be considered during each of your treatments. Lifestyle, stresses, diet, sleep patterns and other seemingly non-related issues (such as hot or cold areas of your body, the condition of your tongue or pulse quality) are also considered a key factor in the holistic style of this type of acupuncture and help individualise each treatment.

As a traditional Five Element Acupuncturist I won't only be looking to address your primary health issue, which may well be presenting as a physical problem, but will also be looking at its root cause such as emotional stress or energy blocks which might have evolved into the physical or mental problem that you are seeking help for. By balancing Qi energy, it is believed that the body can begin its self-healing journey and therefore have potential to reduce symptoms experienced. In a world of ever-changing uncertainties, it is imperative that our mind, body and spirit are strong enough to keep us balanced and healthy which is why some people also use acupuncture as a preventative treatment too.
